Kalyani Nair (Group Head of Virtual Banking, Maybank)
Kalyani Nair is responsible for the digital banking business for Maybank. Highly passionate in creating digital propositions that are customer centric in nature, her core priorities include developing the digital roadmap, expanding the e-payment ecosystem, marketing as well as looking for opportunities to grow the digital business further. Having led the teams to win numerous local as well as international awards, she is deeply involved in defining new business models that deliver the best customer experience, whilst helping the firm fulfil its business growth ambitions.
In the course of her career, Kalyani has gained valuable insights in the banking and payments sectors and has successfully pioneered a number of innovative services in the online & mobile space. This includes the re-designed Maybank2u app, Mae by Maybank2u, eKYC capability for straight through onboarding, digital financing as well as creating SamaSamaLokal to empower local neighbourhood businesses to be part of the digital economy.
Kalyani graduated with a Masters in Corporate Communications and has been a pioneer in Digital Banking.
Anand Pathmakanthan (Regional Head, Equity Research, Maybank Kim Eng Group; Head, Equity Research, Maybank Investment Bank)
Anand Pathmakanthan has over 20 years of sell-side research experience with long stints in CLSA, Nomura and Macquarie, prior to him joining in August 2019.
While much of his career focus has been on Malaysia-centric research, especially on banks and overall strategy, he was also the Head of ASEAN Banks Research during his four years with Nomura Singapore, where he developed a greater insight and appreciation of the broader ASEAN economic landscape and potential.
Anand has a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Honours) from the London School of Economics, an LLB (Honours) from the University of London and is also a CFA Charter holder.
Frances Po is a second term Mentor for the MABC Mentoring Programme for Women in the Workplace. She was a Tax Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) Malaysia until her retirement in July 2019. During her career at PwC, she held various senior leadership roles.
She is currently an independent non-executive Director at Sentral REIT Management Sdn Bhd; manager of Sentral REIT which is listed on BURSA and also at Frontier Digital Ventures Limited (listed on the Australian stock exchange).
Frances graduated with a Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) from University Malaya. She is a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, a Fellow of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia and a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Malaysia.
